Tinnitus Counselling

Tinnitus is a fairly common medical condition and is the perception of sound when there is no external noise. Tinnitus is reported in all age groups and can be experienced as a ringing, whooshing, humming or buzzing in the ear. These sensations can cause daily suffering, or can be intermittent. Tinnitus is more common with people who have hearing loss or other ear problems but can also be experienced by people who have normal hearing too.

Once tinnitus has been identified, some people feel able to continue with their daily life but, for others, the condition can severely affect them and their quality of life in a very negative way.

Currently, there is no cure for tinnitus, unfortunately. However, treatment and management therapies can help to reduce the impact of tinnitus so that people can live a normal active and happy life.

This can help people manage their tinnitus so that it is less of a problem, reducing the stress and isolation that can be experienced by many sufferers and putting tinnitus patients in control of their response to their condition.
